After recent changes in both federal and state gun laws, Sale and possession of firearms and ammunition has become far more regulated than ever with the federal level closing of the “gun show loophole” selling a firearm to a private party without a background check is a 10 year felony. In addition to Michigan’s Public Act 17 of 2023 and Public Act 16 of 2023 stating “felony punishable by imprisonment for up to 15 years for unauthorized access to a firearm by a minor.”
